Korean[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Probably from Manchu ᠮᡠᡴᡝ (muke, “water”). Perhaps the initial consonant was dropped to further increase the difference with non-cant 물 (mul).
Pronunciation[edit]
- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ukʰe̞]
- Phonetic hangul: [우케]
