Etymology[edit]

From the plural stem -oi- + -ttaa.

Pronunciation[edit]

  • IPA(key): /-oi̯tːɑːˣ/, [-o̞i̯t̪ːɑ̝ː(ʔ)]
  • -oi- is always (secondarily) stressed, unless it is in the second syllable in the verb. (Compare -oida.)

Suffix[edit]

-oittaa (front vowel harmony variant -öittää, stem -oitta-, linguistic notation -OittA- or -OittAA)
