Africanist dance (countable and uncountable, plural Africanist dances)

  1. Any of various dance genres and practices that exist in Africa and the African diaspora and have their sources in concepts or practices from Africa.
    Although I am of European descent, I practice Africanist dance forms in the US, such as hip-hop, jazz, and Afro-contemporary dance.
