From Avestan 𐬀𐬢𐬭𐬀⸱𐬨𐬀𐬌𐬥𐬌𐬌𐬎 (aŋra.mainiiu), from 𐬀𐬢𐬭𐬀 (aŋra, evil) + 𐬨𐬀𐬌𐬥𐬌𐬌𐬎 (mainiiu, spirit). Doublet of Ahriman.
