Proto-Japonic?[edit]

(Notifying Eirikr, TAKASUGI Shinji, Nibiko, Atitarev, Suzukaze-c, Dine2016, Poketalker, Cnilep, Britannic124, Marlin Setia1, AstroVulpes, Tsukuyone, Aogaeru4, Huhu9001, 荒巻モロゾフ, Mellohi!): Is Proto-Japanese the same thing as Proto-Japonic? —Mahāgaja · talk 12:22, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

IMO, it is. Japonic only includes Japanese and Ryukyuan, anyway. Both Ryukyuan and Old Japanese are descendants of Proto-Japonic. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 12:34, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Comment Anyhow, this Swadesh list is rather outdated - o̱ is nowadays /ə/, wo is just /o/, b is just /w/, d is just /j/ (transcribed y) and diphthongs in addition to /e/ and /o/ are nowadays widely accepted for Proto-Japonic. mellohi! (僕の乖離) 18:36, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's a different issue. I just want to know if I can put this in CAT:Proto-Japonic language. —Mahāgaja · talk 19:02, 28 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
