Borrowed from Bengali বঙ্গভূমি (boṅgobhumi, “Land of Vanga”).

- (now) A sovereign state proposed by separatists to be established as a homeland for Bengali Hindus.
Usage notes[edit]
- This is a politically-charged term that was originally used to imply the territory which covered the historic Vanga Kingdom. Now it is mostly used by separatists who want to separate the region from the People's Republic of Bangladesh. See Bangabhumi on Wikipedia for more.
