Partial move[edit]

Why were some entries moved away from this category into a new category "Vietnamese terms derived from Chinese," but others not? 173.89.236.187 21:15, 25 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would guess that it has to do with which templates were used in the etymology sections. I think that these are using the general-purpose {{etyl}} template, while the others are using a more specialized Vietnamese etymology template. For the first bunch, one would have to change the language code from "zhx" to "zh" in each entry, but for the others, it would just take a minor change to the code of the Vietnamese template to switch them all over. The vote on changing to "zh" and "Chinese" wasn't that long ago, and the people who are implementing it have their hands full working on Chinese. This is a wiki: feel free to change every instance of {{etyl|zhx|vi}} to {{etyl|zh|vi}} in the entries in this category, and the problem will be solved.
