Gambel's quail (plural Gambel's quails)

  1. A quail variety that lives in the American southwest. Usually in mountainous areas, though even in the desert where there's water available. After breeding and rearing is done, will band together in fairly large coveys. Usually not friendly with other quail during breeding season.
