transliteration method[edit]

@咽頭べさ Thank you for your contribution, but I thought there were some points to improve so I made some edits and renamed the page (also in ヘルプ:モン語の文字と発音). By the way, what method do you use in transliteration (or transcription)? I would like to know how its logic is and what is the source of your method; I tried to figure out why 'Pxnd̒' for ပန် (four) while 'Pa S̄xn' for မသုန် (five), but I failed, so please tell me. --Eryk Kij (talk) 11:21, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

about ံ[edit]

@咽頭べさ I apologize for forgetting that Mon has no word ending with open ို vowel and this vowel requires some closing consonant with ် as in အိုတ် (to be finished) (ကၠဵု (dog) = ကၠိုဝ် and လီု ((to be) ruined) = လိုမ် also belong to this pattern). I assume that's why you regard ို as an exception, but then what about ံ? I think some kind of note might be needed in the help page if we wish readers to think that there is no contradiction between the page and words like တၟံ (stone), တြုံ (male), etc.. May I add the note (the one that you have removed) below the table? --Eryk Kij (talk) 14:49, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
