KL5 (uncountable)

  1. (US, obsolete) Reading of fictional phone numbers that begin with 555 with “KL” being “5” on a dial pad.

Usage notes[edit]

The KL is usually a rendering of town names such as Klondike and Klamath, and thus can be read as “Klondike-five” or “Klamath-five”.[1]
