Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Uralic *sentew- (akin to Komi-Zyrian содны (sodny, to breed) and Nganasan [script needed] (ti̮ntuďi)),[1] a reflexive derivation of the verb *sente- (whence possibly Hungarian ellik (to give birth)).
