Alternatively from *fra- +‎ *pušyáti (“to prosper, thrive, flower”) +‎ *-aH, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *pušyáti (whence Sanskrit पुष्यति (puṣyáti)), from Proto-Indo-European *pus-yé-ti, from *pews- (“to multiply, prosper”) +‎ *-yéti.
