Etymology[edit]
South Slavic dialectal *pek- (“to bake, to roast”) + *-eu̯ra[1]. Compare East and West Slavic cognate *pečěra.

- something roasted or dried on stove[1]
- edible agaric, champignon (mushroom consumed mainly roasted and dried)
