De Vaan says the PI form meant "heir; orphan", from PIE "turning; who is turned over" from *h₃erbʰ-. Matasovic also says Celtic and PI are cognate. The semantics across the board are strange. —JohnC5 21:19, 3 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
