Considering Old Norse elfr, this reconstruction cannot be correct. At least you have to account for the -r-ending somehow, rather than than totally passing over the discrepancy. In fact, there's an easy solution: Reconstruct a stem in *-ih₂ just like Old Norse ylgr f. "she-wolf" = Sanskrit vrkí:-s f. "she-wolf", i. e., *albi:z, gen. sg. *albijo:z.
