Page name[edit]

@Angr, if they are plural only, should this be under μήδεᾰ (mḗdea)? Having the headword be different than the page title is not optimal. —JohnC5 18:26, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@JohnC5: I think it probably should, and I first created μήδεα to be the main entry. But then I thought: (1) if μήδεα is the main entry, what becomes of the page μῆδος? Do we just delete it? There are an awful lot of pages linking to it, though of course those links can be fixed. Also, it seems that most other dictionaries do have μῆδος as their lemma: LSJ, Middle Liddell, Autenrieth, and Bailly all do. That makes it likely that some users will expect to find an entry here; if μῆδος is deleted, someone searching for it will be taken straight to Μῆδος, which won't help them at all. So what else do we do with μῆδος? We could have an entry that says nothing but "hypothetical singular of μήδεα (mḗdea)" I suppose, but that's certainly unprecedented here. So I don't know how best to proceed. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 19:23, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Angr: I feel like there are a few Latin entries that face the same problem. I would prefer the "hypothetical singular of μήδεα (mḗdea)" solution or perhaps just nominative singular of μήδεα (mḗdea) and put a usage note. —JohnC5 19:33, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
@JohnC5: How's this? —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 19:52, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Angr: Good enough for me. —JohnC5 19:54, 20 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
