@Benwing2: Hi. A weird prefix entry by D1gggg; do you think you could give it a good makeover? Also, what about the form чрез- (črez-), as in чрезвыча́йный (črezvyčájnyj)? Per utramque cavernam 22:52, 1 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

(Notifying Atitarev, Cinemantique, Useigor, Wanjuscha, Wikitiki89, Stephen G. Brown, Per utramque cavernam, Guldrelokk, Fay Freak, Tetromino): OK, I did my best. Most of the terms can't be found in dictionaries so I'm not sure how to translate them. Benwing2 (talk) 01:27, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: You did what you could and that's not bad. The prefix is not very productive and the words are rare. Rather than forcing a suffix and then making some terms using it, D1gggg should have defined some real words and add the suffix entry then. череззе́рница (čerezzérnica, partial absence of grains in some spikelets of rye ear) might be another candidate for the "alternating" sense. The other terms do exist and translations are right. чрез- (črez-) has "over-", "trans-" meaning. See also чрезме́рный (črezmérnyj). --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 04:09, 2 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: Thanks!
@Atitarev: Yep. Another Slavonic doublet, so it seems! Confirmed by Vasmer, Max (1964–1973) “через”, in Oleg Trubachyov, transl., Этимологический словарь русского языка [Etymological Dictionary of the Russian Language] (in Russian), Moscow: Progress.
