  • הרכיב I understand this means "put on (glasses)", transitive; and I understand it means or used to mean "graft (a branch to a tree)", transitive. Can someone confirm either or both of those, and add other senses if they exist?—msh210 20:58, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
My dictionary gives eight senses for this. "Graft" is one of them; "put on (glasses)" doesn't seem to be, but there are some that I could maybe imagine someone stretching that way … there's one that means "to seat on the back of an animal or person or vehicle", and one that means "to inject (an inoculation) into someone" … someday when I've got a few spare years, I'll try to create that entry. —RuakhTALK 02:29, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Google הרכיב-משקפים (BooksGroupsScholar) It seems to mean "wear (glasses)" rather than "don (glasses)", but I'm unsure.—msh210 19:56, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
I forgot to mention, I asked my father about this a while back, and he said that, in addition to the senses mentioned by my dictionary, it means both to wear (glasses) and to don (glasses). Considering that everyone in my family wears glasses, you'd think I'd have known that. *shrug* Incidentally, he laughed at my theory that we're animals for the glasses to ride. ;-)   —RuakhTALK 21:39, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I've added both those senses, as well as all the others mentioned in this discussion except "inject (an inoculation)", since I don't recognize it and google books:הרכיב זריקה does not look promising.—msh210 18:42, 5 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
