Hi all. I guess this word is also pronounced with a short vowel, instead of a long one -"hee-lí-kɔ̂p-dtəə" /heː˧.li˦˥.kʰɔp̚˥˩.tɤː˧/? Frank, could you consider a parameter to change long vowels to short? Does it sound like a good idea? --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 00:46, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Also, "เฮ-ลิ-คบ-เตอ" seems a better phonetic respelling. Benjawan Poomsan Becker dictionary transliterates the word as "hee-lí-kóp-dtəə", not "hee-lí-kɔ̂p-dtəə" or "hee-lí-kɔ̂ɔp-dtəə". --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 00:50, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

It's a bit inconvenient with parameters, as you have to specify it is the vowel in which syllable of which pronunciation that you wish to shorten. A good compromise if needed would be to allow the orthographically incorrect combination of vowel shortener + tone mark, and have a note after the phonetic respelling saying this is orthographically not permitted. @Wyang I'd welcome any solution that will allow to get a correct transliteration and IPA. Yes, adding notes sounds good. It also seem easier to add phonetic respellings but manual IPA, which could be copied from the preview and modified (+ automatic notes). Perhaps the number of such words is not so great (when phonetic respellings differ from the actual pronunciation) but compound words would benefit if all basic words were done properly.--Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 05:11, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Understood. I made some changes to the module so that it can generate notes automatically if it detects such combinations. The effect can be seen at ห้องน้ำ. Please guys let me know if you consider this unideal. Wyang (talk) 07:21, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
