The etymology section says that the word is an Armenian borrowing from խրամ (xram), which is quite interesting as this Armenian word itself comes from Laz ღორმა (ɣorma, “hole, aperture”).Compare also with Georgian word ღრმა (ɣrma, “deep”).

Would it make more sense for the Georgian word "ხრამი" to be derived from the same Laz source (or even from Georgian ღრმა)instead of being a borrowing from Armenian which itself is a borrowing? Not to mention there is also no source indicated for such an audacious claim.

If Kartvelian ɣ → Armenian x as Jahukyan claims, then Georgian xrami can only be borrowed from Armenian. --Vahag (talk) 18:17, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
