@Angr: how did you find the length of the first alpha? --Barytonesis (talk) 11:12, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Barytonesis: From scansion in verse. For example, in Wasps l. 287 the first alpha of ἀγανακτέω (aganaktéō) scans as short: ἔ¯σθι˘ε˘ | μη¯δ’ ἀ˘γα˘|νά¯κτει¯. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 11:50, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Angr: thanks. I don't know how to scan choral parts, unfortunately. That's half of a dactylic hexameter then? --Barytonesis (talk) 11:54, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Barytonesis: Well, apparently. I don't know that much about scansion outside of dactylic hexameter either, but I don't see what else this line could be. —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 12:09, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
