This noun is one of the neuter ones that don't have a recessive accent, along with a few others: see here: « Nur wenige Neutra sind Oxytona, nämlich: ἑρπετόν, ζυγόν (zugón), πτερόν (pterón), λουτρόν (loutrón), ᾠόν und die ursprünglich adjektivischen Substantive: φυτόν, βοτόν, ῥυτόν. ».
