This term is probably not a noun. Some dictionaries consider the English term "some of" to be a 'quantifier'. If anyone has an opinion on the part of speech this term is in Chinese, I would appreciate it.Geminni 06:17, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think noun is an accurate description in this case. 部分 shows the same characteristics as a measure word. For example, 襪子 is a pair of socks, but would simply be one pair (noun). The of is necessary for the flow in English, but is not needed in Mandarin. -- A-cai 14:30, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
