Okurigana[edit]

@Suzukaze-c, re: okurigana, since the verb is 擬く, the kanji only covers the modo- portion, no? For 忙しい, we don't see the が, but then again this is a different kanji from the verb 急ぐ. Compare 望ましい and 望む, where the kanji is the same and the okurigana appear to follow the expected pattern based on what sounds are included in the kanji portion for the verb. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 00:35, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Eirikr: Yes, that is what I wanted to say. 擬く and 擬かしい both have 擬 read as modo, but 擬しい is a non-standard form that disregards this consistency (probably found in older literature or something) and is not purposely absorbing okurigana as modo[ka] (like 締切 shi[me]ki[ri]), but is rather just modoka. —Suzukaze-c (talk) 00:41, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
