Confusing[edit]

@Tooironic Hey, do both 有期徒刑 ( life sentence imprisonment of limited duration ) and 無期徒刑 ( life sentence ) refer to a life sentence? Are these two terms synonyms or antonyms? What difference is there between these terms? Thanks. Geographyinitiative (talk) 08:42, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The former period is limited while the latter is not. ---> Tooironic (talk) 10:35, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Tooironic Thanks for your reply. You have recently modified the definition of youqituxing to read as follows: "life sentence imprisonment of limited duration". It is my understanding that youqituxing refers to prison sentences as short as a few years and hence I would challenge the notion that a two or three year sentence could be characterized in English as "life sentence imprisonment of limited duration". Sorry if I'm missing something. Big admirer of your work here! Geographyinitiative (talk) 12:56, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for picking up my mistake and correcting it. Much appreciated. ---> Tooironic (talk) 23:23, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
