Chinese.

(1) Wiktionary:Criteria_for_inclusion#Place_names reads: "Most manmade structures, including buildings, airports, ports, bridges, canals, dams, tunnels, individual roads and streets, as well as gardens, parks, and beaches may only be attested through figurative use."
(2) The 長安街／长安街 (Cháng'ān Jiē) entry (English: Chang'an Avenue) has only one sense: as a "major road".
(3) Since a figurative sense does not appear on 長安街／长安街 (Cháng'ān Jiē) (with the three cites), the page should go to rfd.
(4) However, a likely figurative sense might be something like "lb|en|metonymy The government of the People's Republic of China". I assume this might be similar to Zhongnanhai. I am so unfamiliar with this usage that I really struggle to find things in Google- not sure what to look for really. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 15:04, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

If you look up on Google in double quotation marks phrases like "美国的长安街", "英国的长安街", and "德国的长安街" you can find 长安街 being used in the meaning of "a road with high political importance" or "a road where important government institutions are located". I am not sure if that's entirely metonymic but it could warrant non-deletion perhaps. Cactusləvɚ (talk) 10:24, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

Indeed, which was why I was tentative in suggesting that it would warrant non-deletion. Perhaps it could be classified as a (neologism) or (Internet), but those seem like suboptimal solutions too. Cactusləvɚ (talk) 20:05, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. I had come to the same general conclusion about the figurative uses Cactusləvɚ mentions that Justinrleung did.
Continuing from my comment above...
(5) If a figurative sense ultimately cannot be found, I wouldn't ignore the word "Most" in line (1) above. But I'm personally not familiar with how "wide" the scope of the "Most" is. ("Most" implies to me that there are some important roads, etc. that have no demonstrated figurative sense but qualify for inclusion in Wiktionary, presumably because of importance or something.) Seeing how important the surrounding government offices are, and seeing the stuff Cactusləvɚ brought up, I'm leaning toward a keep somehow. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 23:07, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
