Rfv-sense: The millennium that began on January 1, 2000 and ends on December 31, 2999.

A quick look at Google books showed me only use consistent with 2000s referring to a decade. DCDuring (talk) 17:47, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Rfv-sense: The century that began on January 1, 2000 and ends on December 31, 2099.

I have yet to see evidence of this sense. DCDuring (talk) 17:49, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Would this be pronounced "twenty-hundreds"? Equinox 17:50, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
You would think such a pronunciation would exist. But it seems ambiguous: for me it could refer to the decade. "Nineteem-hundreds" (1900s) for me could be either decade or century, "eighteen hundreds" (1800s) seems much more likely to refer to the century. DCDuring (talk) 18:11, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Three of them look good, but the 2011 citation ("the first decade of the 2000s") is ambiguous: that could also be the first decade of the period 2000-2999. Equinox 18:47, 8 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Other pronunciation[edit]

"/ˌtuː ˈθaʊ.zənd.ziːz/" - what? Like, 2000sies? Who pronounces it like that? Diff from 2014 (or "2014si" apparently). – Nixinova [‌T|C] 01:05, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
