Pronunciation[edit]
I suppose we could list the sources for the pronunciation here – the first two are from the OED and from Forvo (where some of the sound files actually sound closer to the OED's IPA than their own to my ears, but it's still a separate listing). The previous pronunciation that made it sound almost identical to American English was unsourced and (especially in light of the OED) seems dubious; but perhaps we could find a cite that supports it as a British pronunciation as well? - Given the city's use by Aussies as a common noun, maybe we could find a source for their pronunciation as well. (Do they have an online dictionary of their own local pronunciations the way the US and UK have OED, dictionary.com, &c)? Kindly post to my talk page if you know of one.
