Etymology removal[edit]

Why was the etymology removed in this edit? 71.66.97.228 19:45, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was improperly formatted and out of place. Formatting and order are rather strict here. See WT:ELE. Besides, each of the words in the term is linked to its own page where it is defined. —Stephen (Talk) 20:37, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Always better to take the few seconds necessary to reformat rather than throw away/delete (especially without comment). This is the English-language Wiktionary and, as we all know, English glosses are always very helpful in etymology sections. They would be good in the etymology section of this entry. 71.66.97.228 04:05, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The editors who check up on bad-format flags are not up to the task of making etymologies for languages that they know nothing about, so their practice is just to remove unacceptable formatting. Once in a while, some editor may insert an attention-request template, but most editors don’t bother with that, since the requests are usually ignored for months or even years. —Stephen (Talk) 04:57, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New entry title?[edit]

Should we fix the form given in the etymology and inflection lines? Where did that form come from and is it totally incorrect, or just an alternate form? 71.66.97.228 19:18, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That one is not used, this one is used. —Stephen (Talk) 20:35, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why is naaznilgo part of this term? 71.66.97.228 22:47, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because it is incorrect otherwise. —Stephen (Talk) 22:56, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I meant, what is the significance of that word within the complete term (since there's no "lying about" in the original English name of the organization)? 71.66.97.228 23:16, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Countries lie about the earth. —Stephen (Talk) 23:48, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
