Fake

This is a registered trademark used by a company with a clothing store named Sconnie Nation located on State St in Madison, WI. The sole reference is an unreliable source and it appears that this article was created by someone who works for the company. Probably should be delteted. There's nothing that says a word can't be both an authentic part of the language and a registered trademark- if you think about it, it would be quite natural for a company to base their trademark on an existing word. The Partridge slang dictionary is quite reliable, but means nothing for our Criteria for inclusion. You're welcome to submit this to Requests for verification, but it looks to me like it would pass: you can find usage going back many years that's independent of reference to the company or to their shirts (I don't know if this meets the requirements of CFI, but it dates to 1994, and there are later ones that do).
