Is this actually a place-name? Looking at CFI, it is not specifically disallowed, but it seems to go against the spirit of rules which disallow "Madison Street" or "London, Ontario" – ie, an uncomfortable number of literal words are needed to pinpoint its specificness (badly explained, but hopefully that makes sense). I think we ought to have an entry for the Rose Garden; I am not sure about the listed entry. If the President gives a speech from the Rose Garden it is a very specific rose garden. - [The]DaveRoss 18:24, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with TDR. And White House rose garden should redirect to the Rose Garden. -- Ghost of WikiPedant 19:02, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's used attributively in US politics, "a rose-garden strategy", etc, I think, so it would probably have met our more stringent attestation standards of yore. DCDuring TALK 20:30, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
IPA needs work. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:40, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Hebrew translation גן הוורדים של הבית הלבן might not meet CFI, only one Google Book hit, 80 Google hits. BTW I'm not so sure that this entry shows up the weaknesses in the rules, or just it's possible to bypass the rules by making a contrived effort to do so.
