@-sche I was going to try to merge this into the (barely) older amphitheatre, but I'm not sure how to treat this US-only sense or if the distinction even needs to be made. What do you think? Ultimateria (talk) 16:11, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Judging by google books:"concrete ampitheatre" and "semicircular ampitheatre", the sense is not specific to the American spelling, and because the latter search also turns up hits referring to both old and modern structures, it seems it's not even a specific sense.
