Hello. I'm new to this - I hope I'm going about it in the correct manner. Listening to the pronunciation of the Classical Latin avis, the pronunciation of the i vowel sounds closer to that of the close front unrounded vowel [i], found in the Ecclesiatical Latin pronunciation.
