Rfv-sense: boilerplate. I'd never heard of this usage apart from our use of it in {{poscatboiler}} and similar. I didn't find the word used this way in the first hundred uses in [this bgc search]. DCDuring TALK 00:21, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I tried a bunch of searches to find a cite I could add, and the closest I could find on b.g.c. was this. That said, google groups:"boiler text" does find about a dozen relevant Usenet hits, and this message uses the phrase "legal boiler mill", and this one uses the phrase "standard boiler tactics and phrases". So technically this will pass if someone decides to cite, but I nonetheless feel a bit dirty for having added it. —RuakhTALK 02:19, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As it's apparently attestable, you shouldn't feel dirty. I half-expected it was somehow attestable. This kind of shortening is fairly normal, I guess, for more or less the same reasons that our template namers use "boiler" instead of "boilerplate". It seems very informal if not quite rare.
