Hi @Sarilho1. I see your point about the online web-dictionaries, but they do not appear to be major etymological dictionaries like Coromines & Pascual. Per the latter, Portuguese souriço is attested from the thirteenth century, the very beginning of the literary period, while Spanish chorizo is first attested only in 1604, that is, 3–4 centuries later. In addition, neither the medieval Portuguese /s-/ nor the diphthong /ou̯/ can be explained by a borrowing from Spanish. Nicodene (talk) 10:13, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
