enough is beyond enough[edit]
The somewhat illogical "enough is beyond enough" is occasionally seen. Equinox ◑ 13:53, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
- I was confused about what the phrase would mean, so I did a little digging. Facially it seems to say "x is greater than x". Actually, 'beyond' seems to serves as an intensifier: 'the limit of patience or tolerance has been reached, and utterly so'. Examples: (1) “My motto was enough is enough, now it’s enough is beyond enough,” said Henry. “We’re demanding action at this point because it is getting so ridiculous...[1] (2) "When enough is beyond enough: Anger and frustration over sexual violence in India". --Geographyinitiative (talk) 22:14, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
