A review of references in Google books suggests that the adjective use may or may not be hyphenated; my brief scan of results suggests that it is more commonly used unhyphenated. bd2412 T 17:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Definition[edit]
I'm not sure "traditional punishments of Hell" works 100%, since this is also found in the Hebrew Bible, and thus used in Jewish contexts. As far as I'm aware, Judaism does not hold that sinners are condemned to Hell in the same way that Christianity does. One example of how it's used in the Hebrew Bible is when God destroys Sodom and Gomorrah, so maybe "wrath of God" would be a more appropriate definition.
