Adjective. Seems more like an attributive noun to me. — Fytcha T | L | C 12:08, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Strong Keep. It's just an alternative form of fun size, and I've definitely seen it much more as an adjective than a noun (I'm actually not even sure if the noun sense exists). Also per WT:LEMMING, I just checked the OED, and they only have the adjective sense: "fun-size adj. (esp. of a product) smaller than the standard or usual size; (also humorously of a person) short, small" . It's similar to queen-size, full-size, etc. AG202 (talk) 12:23, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Also per WT:COALMINE, after scrolling here for a bit, there are definitely examples of funsize, so it should be automatically kept, per the guidelines that we (inclusive we) have talked about. AG202 (talk) 12:33, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Coalmine is something that counters SOP, which is not the issue raised here. What I'm questioning is whether we have any evidence that fun-size (or funsize for that matter) is lexically an adjective. Put another way: do we have three citations that demonstrate usage that cannot be explained by an attributive noun? My search has proven unsuccessful, though admittedly this should probably have been sent to RFV. Pinging also @DCDuring. — Fytcha T | L | C 13:08, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
My question is if it's even used as a noun in the first place. I've never seen its usage as a noun, and OED only lists it as an adjective as well. If anything the noun sense derives from the adjective sense. Saying "it's a funsize" sounds very off or changes the nuance entirely without something following it. I'm sure that there are plenty of citations (you can go to the OED for that as well) that show its usage as an adjective. Let alone what @Equinox said as well. @AG202: Gotcha, makes sense actually. — Fytcha T | L | C 13:51, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Keep per AG202. Binarystep (talk) 12:52, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Keep. It is usually spelled this way. Note we have fun-sized too which certainly isn't a noun, and is a synonym. Equinox 13:26, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

RFD-retracted. — Fytcha T | L | C 13:51, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
