Talk:hence
Usage
[edit]I don't believe the example usage is correct. Isn't 'hence' supposed to be followed by a noun, adjective, or adverb? "I am cold, hence the coat", or "You are wrong, hence stupid". The example given in this article includes an entire clause after 'hence'. -Jason- 18:02, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- A me too vote here. "I shall go to Japan, hence I will not be here in time for the party" looks like a comma splice to me. 163.28.49.6 12:42, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Duplicate Definitions?
[edit]I don't see any difference in the meaning of definitions 1 and 3. I didn't make any changes, as I'm not sure if they're actually duplicates, they just need further clarification, or the example sentence of one or the other isn't representative of the definition. If someone knows better than me, please make whatever changes necessary. JodianWarrior (talk) 02:07, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
