like to die[edit]

In the 1962 western film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, a man is "like to die if we don't get care for him". Does this entry cover it? Or does like (adjective) cover it? Or neither? Equinox 12:50, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Equinox I don't know when it was added, but I think either like, etymology 2, adjective, sense 2, "likely; probable", or like, etymology 2, adverb, sense 1, "likely", covers it. - excarnateSojourner (talk | contrib) 05:19, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
@ExcarnateSojourner: I agree, "likely" adjective sense covers it. Thanks. Equinox 03:29, 26 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
