Did the Latin word only refer to large walls, such as city walls, like the German word "Mauer", and a word like sepes refer to walls of houses or other fences/dividers, or could this word also refer to smaller walls? 72.160.177.204 04:24, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

I can't answer the question. But the German word Mauer isn't restricted to "large walls" but to "stone walls". For the difference between "Mauer" and "Wand", see this lemma. Kolmiel (talk) 01:47, 1 May 2017 (UTC)
