It's my impression that the person being paid is shown with -chʼįʼ. Can anyone weigh in on this? Ewweisser (talk) 01:13, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That’s right, bichʼįʼ nahalyé (he is paid). bikʼé nahalyé (it is paid for). The active form is nahashłé: bichʼįʼ nahashłé (I pay him). bikʼé nahashłé (I pay for it). bikʼé bichʼįʼ nahashłé (I pay him for it). The stem is -łé, and the prefix nahi- is seriative, meaning one after another. So it means paid in installments, paid a recurring fee, paid a salary, paid rent; or to pay in installments, pay a recurring fee, pay a salary, pay rent. —Stephen (Talk) 12:25, 8 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
