Obviously, this is used, and for decades, so it is neither a protologism nor my own creation!

Typographical errors are not words, and Google searches are not evidence. Did you check the actual sources you found? Some of them are not English, some of them display no content, and some are scanning errors. Some of the returns in your search are for neighborhood, some for neighbourhood. Links to searches are not useful evidence. --EncycloPetey 22:25, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
But some are genuine... Mglovesfun (talk) 11:01, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Is that enough for this to qualify as a common misspelling? Please note that some of the "genuine" uses are translations of works originally in Chinese, for example. This looks like an error, but is it common enough to warrant inclusion as such? --EncycloPetey 00:52, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
This is not a common misspelling and there might be a half dozen random misspellings of every one of the (million-plus?) words in the English language. I don't support adding entries for misspellings, unless they are very common or notable. 71.66.97.228 01:37, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Examining this search result, now I am not so sure. Some of them seem to represent an alternate spelling. Most results are reputable English-language publications and most are not scanning errors. 71.66.97.228 01:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

neighboorhood[edit]

I fail to see why this is "Creative invention or protologism" It gets plenty of usage - Google: [5] Google books: [6] Google scholar: [7] Google news: [8]

Restored, should be moved to RFV if anyone wants to. However, it looks like the citations page already has three citations. Mglovesfun (talk) 12:01, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Surely this should be listed as a misspelling[edit]

Does any other dict have it?! Equinox 19:57, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
