Despite the assertions of several books, I can't find this used for statant in either English or French heraldry; the only cite I spotted is "Gules, a lion posé or, passant argent" where it seems like it's referring to some aspect of the lion being colored a certain way (while the overall lion is argent in tincture and passant in its posture). - -sche (discuss) 00:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
