Sense 2: "(informal) soonish". Seems nonstandard at best, if it exists at all. (Watch out for scannos for "so only".) Also the degree of approximation ("-ish") is important, since if it's just a slangy way to say "soon" (rather than "soonish") then we already have a sense that means "soon": the obsolete first sense! - I have added some modern citations to the citations page, but I am not at all convinced that they mean anything other than "soon". My guess is that they represent either non-native speakers or an attempt to represent non-native speech. Kiwima (talk) 03:23, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, I meant to comment earlier when I edited the entry, I don't know that it would be possible to attest a sense "soonish" distinctly from "soon", and I don't see why the sense "soonish" would be expected for a word that is just "soon" + the adverbial suffix "-ly". Probably there should be only one sense, and it should be tagged as obsolete outside non-native speakers' English. - -sche (discuss) 04:13, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
