Is this an "accepted" spelling, an alternative spelling or a misspelling of (deprecated template usage) susurration? --EncycloPetey 23:56, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not accepted in my opinion. A misspelling. —Stephen 13:06, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Agreed, delete. —RuakhTALK 15:51, 16 July 2009 (UTC)- If it's a common misspelling, then we wouldn't delete it. Is it a "common" misspelling? Can an uncommon word even have a common misspelling? --EncycloPetey 19:10, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- More than 75% the frequency in raw b.g.c. hits (605:780) as the sole spelling accepted by dictionaries: susurration. More than four times as common there as susuration and about twelve times as common as sussurration. It is in your complete discretion how to present it since we have no guidelines for this and, even if we had a policy, it would be more a suggestion than a rule. All four forms would be "attestable", if that is what is at issue for this RfV. Or we could have a vote. DCDuring TALK 20:07, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, crazy. I'm changing my vote to Keep as common misspelling. —RuakhTALK 13:28, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
