It means petroleum and therefore what petroleum means. Oil has different meanings, only one of which is petroleum. If you want to say oil, you should choose another word that fits it better. —Stephen (Talk) 08:44, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I know there are various types of oil (motor oil, vegetable oil, lubricating oil), but if it can also mean "crude oil," maybe "crude oil" (as a more everyday term for "petroleum") could be added as another definition for this term. 71.66.97.228 20:29, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
