my ed it is meant2 reflect what my reference, a long man con temporary English dictionary, is telling me [though I took their two meanings together in one sentence admitedly], also in this way bringing the entry closer to what I understand intuitively under the word [more than half a lifetime spent learning and using English if you don't mind me saying so].

I am aware of the need of good examples sentences, but wouldn't know the exact formatting required [I could guess how to do it, but am afraid such attempt might not reach the quality standards of wictionary, and for now I'm physically too tired to look for another entry to see how example sentences are inserted properly], so I leave it here with for now, sincerely hoping to have contributed to the betrment of this entry and wictionary as such; please feel free to tell me on my user page if you disagree with the nature of my edit, I'm very happy to learn!!

PS please be forgiving for the idiosyncrasies of my speech recognition in the spelling of the above!

Thanks for improving the entry and leaving above message. I did a little rewording and will get a quote for the definition you added. We use Google Books a lot for such things. DCDuring TALK 23:48, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
