Comma[edit]

Can the comma be removed from this template? Using it with any other quotation template means there will be two commas displayed (see comprehender). Nadando 22:22, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, at least add a parameter for omitting it, otherwise one cannot even use it with {{BC}}. Compare ferrum: even though there are only CE dates {{Q}} gives CE, so one needs to use {{BC}} and omit the comma in {{circa}}. @Sgconlaw Fay Freak (talk) 16:44, 12 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Template needs emending[edit]

It's good to have a clear template and provide a link to the glossary, but this is overlong. If we're just going to write out circa, we can go a step farther and be even more clear and just write out "around" or "about". The entire purpose of using c. is that it's an easy abbreviation, not that we're trying to teach Latin vocabulary or make ourselves look clever. — LlywelynII 01:00, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Better[edit]

But worth pointing out that the standard at Wikipedia is to give circa as c. without the Latiny italics. It's become naturalized.

Not sure if there's a similar policy here or not. — LlywelynII 04:14, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
