The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

One of the odder templates I've ever seen. Used on 8 homophonous French entries with the IPA kuʁ. 8 isn't all that many, anyway, most verbs forms have 6 or 7, at least. Mglovesfun (talk) 18:42, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I cleaned it up, anyway. Potentially we could subst: it and remove the entries from the lists of homophones. That is to say, courre is currently listed as a homophone of courre (itself). Mglovesfun (talk) 19:08, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it doesn't have any sense to have a template for each pronunciation, and a normal user couldn't edit it. It should be deleted and the content rewritten using standard templates (like Template:exthomophones). Pharamp 19:37, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. —Internoob (Disc.Cont.) 00:03, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
{{comma list}} can be used to avoid the self-listing problem. A smalltext "edit" link could be added to encourage updating. I have no opinion on the merits, but I think the editability issue cuts both ways. That is, where you have a set of 6-8 interlinked words, users who notice something missing from the list in one entry will seldom bother to update the 5-7 other entries as well. Without a template, entropy will tend to grow over time as both omissive and commissive errors go uncorrected. -- Visviva 01:59, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's true and a good reason to keep this. But if there are in some dialect differences in pronunciation among these eight words, the template will need to be substed.—msh210 18:17, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Comment. Using {{comma list}} inside {{exthomophones}} makes it do this:

This is actually hypothetical and {{homophones}} has enough parameters to deal with this. Anyway anyone think this template should pass RFDO? The majority is saying delete right now. Mglovesfun (talk) 00:05, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fails per consensus, notably among active French language editors. Mglovesfun (talk) 20:22, 26 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
